So its time to say goodbye to the Vauxhall Motors Ltd Mokka E, and give it a review.
Now I hear what your saying the Mokka has been out quite a while, and you would be right. I remember driving the original launch model in its signature hulk green on the first ever GREENFLEET EV Rally of Scotland.
So what changed, that original car was fitted with the old motor and battery, and I will be honest you were lucky if you could get 200miles per charge. Most people seemed to get 160miles range.
Now this model is fitted with the new ultra efficient 151bhp unit and a slightly larger battery. Wow does it make a difference, I didn’t once see it drop below 5mpkwh. During my time with it got just over WLTP in mixed driving achieving just over 260miles per charge. Slightly less than the Astra on this powertrain but I put that down to its SUV styling. On my Eco loop it achieved an amazing 7.3mpkh giving over 350miles range per charge. I suspect this could easily serve as over a week of their daily commute.
So in practice this makes it great family car, big enough to cope, and gives that higher SUV ride height that so many like. Also a small enough footprint to fit an UK parking spaces.
Yet again the Stellantis Group have shown they can make constant improvements to their powertrain. If you looking for good efficient Battery Electric Vehicle – time to give them a look.
